Faculty of Design and Art

        The Faculty of Design and Art of Huaiyin Institute of Technology was established in 2000. At present, it has five undergraduate majors, including Industrial Design, Product Design, Environmental Design, Visual Communication Design and Digital Media Art. Among them, the Industrial Design major is the key specialty of the “Twelfth Five-Year Plan” of Jiangsu Province. The Faculty currently has 1053 students, and has trained more than 2,000 graduates in design for the society. In 2014, it began to jointly train postgraduate students with Hunan University of Science and Technology and Nanjing University of Technology.

        At present, the Faculty of Design Art has two education centers, i.e. the Jiangsu Industrial Design Center and Jiangsu Design Art Practice Education Center. The experimental area covers nearly 3,000 square meters and the equipment values about 15 million yuan. Relying on the school’s national virtual simulation laboratory, there are virtual reality design sub-chambers, human-computer interaction labs and eight innovative design studios. On this basis, the Faculty has established strategic partnerships with Jiangsu Huai’an National College Students Innovation and Technology Park, Huai’an Overseas Students Pioneer Park, GuHuai River Cultural and Creative Industry Park, Yiwu Creative Park, National Tourism Commodity R&D Center and other 10 units.
