Faculty of Management Engineering

        Faculty of Management Engineering has four undergraduate majors: Department of Logistics Engineering, Department of Industrial Engineering, Department of Engineering Management, and Department of Information Management. It has a teaching and research team with reasonable academic structure, solid theoretical foundation, rich practical ability and fruitful research results. At present, there are 60 faculty members, including 50 full-time teachers, among which there are eight professors, 20 associate professors and 29 doctors. In the Faculty, there are two academic leaders of Jiangsu Province “333 Project,” three young and middle-aged academic leaders, and two outstanding young backbone teachers cultivated in the “Qinglan Project” of Jiangsu Province, and 10 teachers cultivated in the “533 Project” of Huai’an City.

        The Faculty has provincial scientific research teaching platforms, including “Intelligent Factory Technology Engineering Center of Jiangsu Province”, “Urban and Rural Residential Structure Assembly Technology Engineering Laboratory of Jiangsu Province”, and the key discipline “Management Science and Engineering”. It carries out the practical teaching and scientific research, relying on the National Virtual Simulation Experimental Teaching Center of Huaiyin Institute of Technology, and a group of Jiangsu Basic Experimental Teaching Demonstration Centers, like Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Mechanical Engineering.

    The Faculty integrates the management science knowledge of various project with the idea of “Big Project,” leading the applied research and discipline construction and serving the local economy. In recent years, the Faculty has undertaken five National Natural Science Fund Project and National Social Science Fund Projects, as well as more than 90 other projects, including Humanities and Social Foundation Projects of the Ministry of Education, Natural Science Foundation Projects and Social Science Foundation Projects of Jiangsu Province, and published more than 60 SCI/SSCI/EI/CSSCI indexed papers. The faculty members have won one third prize of Excellent Achievements Award of National Development and Reform Commission and two second prizes of Excellent Achievements Award of Philosophy and Social Sciences of Jiangsu Province, two third prizes of National Statistical Scientific Research Achievements, one second prize and two third prizes of Humanities and Social Science of Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education.

    The Faculty leads the students to grow into talents with the thought of “Big Management,” and trains them to be the first line of the management engineering. Currently, there are 872 undergraduates, including 279 majored in Engineering Management, 234 majored in Logistics Engineering, 173 majored in Industrial Engineering and 186 majored in Information Management. It has cultivated more than 30 postgraduate students of Master’s & Doctoral degree cooperated with Taiwan Zhonghua University, Jiangsu University of Science and Technology, Nanjing University of Technology, Guizhou University of Finance and Economics and other universities. It also practices the cooperative-education, cooperates with enterprises and government departments, and builds off-campus internship bases with more than 40 enterprises. The employment rate maintains at more than 97%, and the graduates are well received by employers.
