Conference on Sino-European Center for Canal Culture Studies and Exchanges was held on Meicheng Campus of HYIT on April 30. The online conference was attended by Sui Aiwu, President of HYIT, Wang Dongdong, Vice President of HYIT and Fabio Pollice, President of University of Salento, Rosita D’Amora, Vice President of University of Salento.
Sun Aiwu extended his greetings to the administrative team headed by President Fabio Pollice and reviewed the history of cooperation and exchange between the two schools. He also appreciated the mutual aid and friendly interaction between the two schools in the midst of COVID-19 outbreak with greetings and supplies, exhibiting greatly the the spirit of great love of “standing together through thick and thin”. Sun pointed out that the establishment of Sino-European Center for Canal Culture Studies and Exchanges is a landmark of bilateral cooperation and was optimistic about the bright prospects of academic cooperation and hoped the friendship between HYIT and University of Salento can be as immortal as ancient canals.
Fabio Pollice expressed his sincere gratitude to HYIT for care and assistance it offered in the midst of COVID-19 crisis. He made the remark that Sino-European Center for Canal Culture Studies and Exchanges is of great significance and hoped studies on Chinese and European cultures can be further promoted on the basis of current cooperation and exchanges. He expected Sino-European Center for Canal Culture Studies and Exchanges can serve as a new bridge and bond to advance cooperation in multiple fields on the basis of studies and exchanges on canal culture.
The two sides engaged in discussions over Chapter of Sino-European Center for Canal Culture Studies and Exchanges, joint academic research, academic seminars and 2020 exchange program.
HYIT faculty members from Office of International Cooperation and Exchanges, Department of Social Science, Faculty of Foreign Languages and Faculty of Humanities also attended the conference.
