The first Meeting of Joint Management Committee on China-Finland Academic Program was held on the Meicheng Campus of HYIT on April 30. The online meeting was attended by Heikki Malinen, Vice President of JAMK University of Applied Sciences and other joint management committee members from JAMK University of Applied Sciences. Wang Dongdong, vice President of HYIT and director of the joint management committee, joined the online meeting and delivered her speech.
Wang Dongdong extended greetings to her Finnish counterparts and pointed out that HYIT lays great emphasis on the academic program on logistics which has made steady progress over the past year. Against the backdrop of COVID-19 crisis, HYIT and JAMK University of Applied Sciences should be prepared to cope with environmental changes over a longer period of time. She hoped that this meeting could be part of the joint efforts to bring academic cooperation to a higher level and more work can be done in school curricula, forms of lecturing , as well as teaching in the autumn.
Heikki Malinen expressed gratitude to HYIT for the care and assistance it offered and outlined the measures JAMK University of Applied Sciences has taken to combat COVID-19. He said the academic program is well accepted but may fail to be run as the coronavirus continues to spread across the globe, and suggested that online teaching should still be the major method.
Members of the joint management committee engaged in discussions on topics including improving curriculum quality and learning atmosphere, making curriculum adjustment and innovating teaching patterns and methods.
HYIT faculty members from Office of International Cooperation and Exchanges, Department of Finance, and Faculty of Management Engineering also attended the meeting.
