A few days ago, our school held a “A Big but Small World in HYIT with a Common Dream” 2022 New Year’s Gala for international teachers and students at the college student activity center of Beijing Road campus. President Sun Aiwu, vice president Wang Dongdong, deputy head of the Exit-Entry Administration Detachment of Huai’an Public Security Bureau Chen Xi, police officer Yang Zezhong of the detachment, and police officer Xu Xiaotian of Huai’an Beijing Road police station attended the party.
Sun Aiwu presented awards to the winners of 2021 Jiangsu Government Scholarship (Outstanding Student Scholarship).
Wang Dongdong presented awards to the first, second, and third prize winners of the School of International Education in 2021.
Xu Xiaotian presented awards to the outstanding athletes of the School of International Education.
In her speech, Wang Dongdong extended festive greetings to international teachers and students and thanked them for their contributions to the development of the school. She reviewed the school’s achievements and breakthroughs in running school, foreign-related management and training of foreign students in China over the past year. She said that in the new year, the school will continue to promote first-class cooperation with overseas countries, explore diversified international forms of school running, strengthen the brand construction of “Study Abroad in HYIT”, and strive to build a high-level Huai’an University with distinctive features.
The party started with a warm opening video, with a perfect combination of different styles of costumes and dynamic and cheerful steps. Representatives of foreign students from different countries showed their national clothing culture through “International Show”; “Someone you loved” from the Rhythm City band of foreign students, ignited the atmosphere of the party; Zhao Keshu from the Faculty of Foreign languages exhibited young people’s glamour with her energetic dance “Dangerous Party”; “Kendo and level 8” by Chen Shihao and Chen Xinghua of the Faulty of Applied Technology and Luo Qingbei, an overseas student in China, demonstrated the charm of traditional Chinese martial arts with the combination of strength and beauty; Foreign students from different countries such as Luo Kai and Azam brought the audience back to their hometown through their cheerful “National Dance Series”; Playing and singing “Blue and White Porcelain” on the zither, the teacher of the School of International Education made everyone seem to be in the beautiful scenery of the misty rain in the south of the Yangtze River. The Peking Operas, “Children of Poor Families are in Charge Early” and “Xi Shi” sang jointly by Li Jinguang of the Faculty of Foreign languages and Benjamin, an international student, displayed the charm and feelings of the quintessence of Chinese culture; “Mandarin Duck and Begonia” performed by Zhang Linan and other students of the Faculty of Business gave the audience a chance to appreciate Chinese jazz dance; Professor Xue Jianming’s powerful voice shocked the audience by singing the classic “Rolling Yangtze River Flowing East”; Students from the Faculty of Architecture and Civil Engineering sang “Sing the Beloved Motherland” in a choir, dedicating their love to the motherland. Finally, in the chorus song “Love Each Other”, the party came to an end.
Leaders of some relevant departments and faculties, such as the Party and Government Office, the Students’ Work Office, the Logistics Department, the Security Department, the Youth League Committee, the Higher Education Office, the Library, the Faculty of Mechanical and Material Engineering, the Faculty of Life Science and Food Engineering, and the Faculty of Foreign Languages, foreign experts and scholars, and all the teachers and students of the School of International Education attended the party.
