Recently, the General Office of the Ministry of Education announced the list of the second batch of research and practice projects for new engineering and technical disciplines, among which HYIT’s “Research and Practice on the Curriculum System of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education in Local Colleges and Universities for New Engineering and Technical Disciplines” was approved. This is the secondly approved National level project in HYIT, the former being one of the first batch of new engineering and technical disciplines research and practice projects of the Ministry of Education in 2018. The second batch totaled 845, including 273 comprehensive reform projects and 572 specialty reform projects. HYIT’s approved project belongs to the comprehensive reform projects under the innovative entrepreneurship education project group.
The new research and practice project for new engineering and technical disciplines is the initiative of the Ministry of Education to meet the challenges of a brand-new round of scientific and technological revolution and industrial transformation, to serve the national development strategy and economic and social needs, to push the construction of new engineering courses in colleges and universities to deepen, expand, break through and start again, to form an engineering education system with “Chinese characteristics and world level” and to build a powerful country in engineering education. Up to the present moment, HYIT has been approved two new research and practice projects for new engineering and technical disciplines by the Ministry of Education, and the first project, “On Exploration and Practice of Individualized Personnel Training Mode of Engineering in Local undergraduate Colleges”, has been successfully concluded.
In recent years, HYIT has been centering on the fundamental task of fostering virtue and nurturing people, keeping up with the pace of higher education teaching reform and development, insisting on putting the work of innovation and entrepreneurship education at the top of the overall strategy of serving the school development, integrating innovation and entrepreneurship education with specialty education. We keep on running the education of innovation and entrepreneurship through the whole process of “first-class students” training, and take the concept of mass entrepreneurship and innovation education, aiming to construct an ecosystem of innovation and entrepreneurship education for new engineering and technical disciplines. HYIT will take this approval as an opportunity to excel in project research and process management, firmly promote the work of innovative entrepreneurship education and the construction of new engineering technical disciplines, and give play to its leading role in demonstration to improve the level of innovative entrepreneurship education and the quality of engineering education.
