Autumn is endowed to be a season full of beautiful views and refreshing fragrance. On the morning of Oct.16, the High-quality Development Conference of School and City Integration was held in HYIT library Lecture Hall of Mei Cheng Road Campus. The conference was divided into two sessions. The main session in the morning featured the commendation on the outstanding personnel, the release of the think tank results and projects signing while the afternoon session dealt with school-enterprise docking and project exchange activities.
Sun Hu, member of the Standing Committee of the Huai’an Municipal Committee of the Communist Party，remarked that the conference is not only a conference and event to strengthen cooperation and seek development, but also a happy event for the display of achievements. Currently, the whole city is building a “green highland, and new hub city”, which requires us to implement the new development concept, deepen the reform of the talent development system and mechanism, strengthen the construction of innovative and entrepreneurial talents, and strive to cultivate new momentum of innovation and development. In recent years, HYIT has established a good cooperation mechanism with counties and districts, and has set up a number of cooperative innovation alliances with enterprises, which has played an important role in the transformation of the enterprises. It is hoped that HYIT will further focus on the construction and improvement of modern green industrial system and the cultivation of superior characteristic industries in Huai’an, with more scientific and technological achievements of large market demand and broad prospects for industrialization. Enterprises should play a good role, further refine demands, increase investment, open up the market, actively promote the transformation and application of scientific and technological achievements, and make the innovation chain deeply integrated with the capital chain and the industrial chain. All counties, districts and relevant departments should strengthen the overall coordination, provide excellent docking services, optimize the development policy of innovation and entrepreneurship, and provide a better environment for Government-Industry-University-Research Cooperation.
Zhao Bingqi, Secretary of the Party Committee of HYIT, pointed out that as a university rooted in Premier Zhou Enlai’s hometown, HYIT has always regarded the development of Huai’an as its eternal pursuit and mission, seeking support with contribution and seeking development with service. Universities flourish because of cities, and cities flourish because of universities. At present, Huai’an is making every effort to build a “green highland, and new hub city”, push forward the construction of “beautiful, open, innovative, and happy Huai’an”, and cultivate new kinetic energy of innovation and development. Carrying the earnest expectations of Huai’an people, HYIT is also striving to become a master’s degree awarding unit and a high-level comprehensive applied Huai’an University, so as to comprehensively enhance the comprehensive strength and core competitiveness of the school. Standing at a new starting point of high-quality school and city integration, HYIT will always bear in mind General Secretary Xi Jinping’s commitment to “building Premier Zhou’s hometown well”, continue to study and implement the spirit of Xi Jinping’s series of important speeches on higher education, always take the service of local economic and social development as its mission, actively explore the long-term mechanism of innovation-driven development and deep integration of the school and city, and effectively transform the talent and scientific research advantages of HYIT into the innovation, industry and development advantages of Huai’an, and make due contributions to the successful establishment of comprehensive Huai’an University and high-quality development of Huai’an.
In President of HYIT Sun Aiwu’s keynote work report, he pointed out that HYIT has always persisted on rooting in Huai’an, taking the service of regional economic and social development as its own mission, actively integrating and serving local economic and social development. Since the implementation of the “1111” project, the school has been strongly supported by the Huai’an Municipal Party Committee and Huai’an Municipal Government. The school has signed a strategic agreement with each Huai’an county and district to deepen cooperation in an all-round way. The school strengthens the government-school linkage, plans the school city integration development as a whole; promotes the industry and education fusion, creates the characteristic discipline specialized cluster; implements the “1357” project, constructs the regional talented person highland; pays attention to the ability training, unceasingly enhances the talented person training quality and promote scientific research and improve local service capacity. HYIT will take this conference as an opportunity to further strengthen the confidence for development, deepen cooperation between schools and enterprises, promote the integration of the school and the city, further exert advantages, integrate resources, gather strength, comprehensively promote the “1111” project, and make every effort to promote the “rise of Huai’an” and “revitalization of northern Jiangsu”.
