On the evening of Dec. 28, HYIT’s International Students New Year Party 2019 entitled "World Heart, Chinese Dream, HYIT Love" was held at the conference hall in the library of Meicheng Road campus. Our university’s Vice President Wang Dongdong attended the party and delivered a speech.

Wang Dongdong extended New Year greetings to the teachers and students present on behalf of the university. She pointed out that 2018 was a significant year for HYIT to promote the "Ten First-Class Programs." HYIT has made outstanding achievements in promoting international cooperation and exchange, teachers and students' study abroad, introduction of foreign educational resources, and connotative development of international education. She hoped international students could work hard to improve their understanding of Chinese culture and China's national conditions, thereby building a bridge of friendship for international exchanges and cooperation.

With the wonderful and lively warm-up video, a multicultural gala raised its curtain. A band of international students from Mongolia, Laos, Zambia and other countries drew the attention of everyone in the hall with the songs "Fly Far and High & Treasure." Their brilliant performances won audiences' applause and cheers. The Multinational Fashion Show quickly enlivened the gala. The dance "Fine Tigers" and "Bangali Song" presented by Bengali girls and boys expressed their joy and best wishes for the New Year. Wang Wanting, from the Republic of Congo, and Goni, from Bangladesh, sang the Chinese songs "Sadly It’s Not You" and "I Want to Say It Loud to You" in standard Chinese. The dance "Lao Love" presented by Lao students expressed the praise of pure friendship and love. The modern street dance presented by Oree, from Nigeria, Amaya, from Ghana, and Wawa, from Laos, showed the youth and vitality of international students. The song "You Are the Reason" was soul-stirring and thought-provoking. The dumb show presented by Anon and Haman from Bangladesh was creative and humorous. The gala reached its climax with indigenous African dances and ended with a cheerful and enthusiastic chorus of "We Love Each Other."

During the gala, the awarding ceremony for the 2017-2018 Merit-Based Scholarship of the Faculty of International Education, Civilized Dorms and Best Floor Supervisors of International Students in the first semester of school year 2018-2019 was held.

This event was organized by the Faculty of International Education. Some foreign teachers and Chinese teachers of the Faculty of International Education and all the international students attended this gala. The performers included more than 70 international students from Russia, the Republic of Congo, Ghana, Bangladesh, Nigeria, Equatorial Guinea, Kazakhstan, Laos, Mongolia, Angola and other countries.

Deputy detachment leader Dai Fen from the Exit and Entry Administration of Huai'an Public Security Bureau, Police Inspector Jiang Zhen from Meicheng Road Police Station under Huai'an Public Security Bureau, persons in charge from HYIT's International Cooperation and Exchange Office, Security Office, Logistics Service Company attended the gala.
