On November 16th, Kerui Wei’an released the list of “highly cited scientists” in 2021. Muhammad Bilal, a foreign teacher of the Faculty of Life Science and Food Engineering of HYIT, was selected in the interdisciplinary field.

The selection of the list of highly cited scientists is based on the citation data of Web of Science. The selected “highly cited scientists” have published a number of highly cited papers, whose citation frequency is in the top 1% of the same discipline and the same year, making important contributions to their disciplines and having global influence.

The list of “highly cited scientists” in 2021 was selected from 21 disciplines and interdisciplinary areas of natural and social Sciences based on the number of highly cited papers published in the 11-year period from January 2010 to December 2020. It is reported that 6602 highly cited scientists from various fields in more than 70 countries around the world were selected. The number of selected scientists in mainland China reached 935, ranking second and the number of scientists selected from the Chinese Academy of Sciences ranked second in the world.
