From August 22 to 24, the final of Jiangsu provincial competition of The 7th China International College Students’ “Internet+” Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition was held in Xianlin Campus of Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications. The group stage and qualifying session were conducted in the form of online road show defense. HYIT won 2 first prizes, 6 second prizes, 5 third prizes in this competition, with both the award-winning levels and the winning amount reaching record highs and the number of the first prize winners and the total number of winners ranking first among similar colleges in Jiangsu Province. The two teams of “Intelligent Ant Technology” from Faculty of Architecture and Civil Engineering and “Safe Tunnels” from Faculty of Transportation Engineering successfully entered the national competition. This time, HYIT performed the best in the school history of the competition.

Since the very launch of the provincial qualification competition, HYIT had attached great importance to the competition. The school held several special work-promoting meetings. President Sun Aiwu and Vice President Wang Dongdong instructed the simulated road show defense for many times at the preparatory competition site, having in-depth communication with the advisors and the students and encouraging them to compete elegantly and attain the best achievements. Later, the school will support the projects to enter the national competition according to the requirements of the superior department.

The competition has become an innovation and entrepreneurship event with the most participants, the most comprehensive coverage of universities, the maximum number of participating teams, the highest level of participation and the greatest impact. It has also been an ideological and political classroom with the maximum scale, the latest form and the greatest vigor and an important platform to further the reforms of college students’ innovation and entrepreneurship education and to improve college students’ all-around development. The competition attracted 377,500 participants from 94,200 teams (including 38,600 teams from secondary vocational schools) from 146 universities (including 73 secondary vocational schools) in Jiangsu and the numbers of teams and participants greatly increased compared with those of last year. After the preliminary competitions in each school, 1010 projects were recommended to the provincial main track of higher education and the semi-final of “Young People’s Red Dream-Building Tour” track, and finally 295 projects entered the provincial finals. In the final, 85 projects won the first prize and 111 the second prize in the competition of provincial main track of higher education and 19 won the first prize and 80 the second prize in the competition of “Young People’s Red Dream-Building Tour” track.
