From March 14 to 21, the 7th Chinese Calligraphy Lanting Award was successfully concluded in Shaoxing, Zhejiang Province. A Study on the Group of Calligraphers and Retro Ideas in Yuan Dynasty, the monograph by Cheng Bo, a teacher of Faculty of Design and Art, won the Silver Prize. It is the first time that our teacher has won this national award.
Approved by the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee and sponsored by the China Calligraphers Association, Chinese Federation of Literary and Artistic Circles and the Chinese calligrapher’s Association, the Chinese Calligraphy Lanting Award, the highest prize in Chinese calligraphy with an interval of three years, aims to award the highest award and highest honor to calligraphers, calligraphy theorists, calligraphy educators and calligraphy workers who have made great achievements and outstanding contributions in the fields of calligraphy art creation, theoretical research, calligraphy education, editing and publishing. Like the Chinese Opera Plum Blossom Award, the Chinese Film Golden Rooster Award and the Chinese TV Golden Eagle Award, this award is among the highest in the art category.
