Recently, the launching ceremony of the “One Hundred Years in Jiangsu” Large-scale Fine Art Creation Project was held in Nanjing. The sculpture “Liulaozhuang 82 Martyrs”, composed by Tang Haiying, a teacher of Faculty of Design and Art, has been approved as “Excellent Creation Project”, one of the six in Jiangsu province.
The project, sponsored by the Propaganda Department of Jiangsu Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China, and Jiangsu Federation of Literary and Art Circles, is a major cultural project organized by Artists Association of Jiangsu Province. Based on the history, humanities and economic and social development of Jiangsu for a hundred years, it has carefully selected by experts 100 topics from 100 Years in Jiangsu covering the most influential and representative historical events and figures, with an aim to launch a batch of excellent artistic works that can stand, spread, and pass on for generations, which can be deemed as a great painting gift to the 100th anniversary of the birth of the communist party of China.
