The results of 2023 American Collegiate Mathematical Contest in Modeling were recently announced, and our student teams excelled in the contest, winning 2 international second prizes.

Hosted by the Consortium for Mathematics and its Application, the American Mathematical Contest in Modeling for Undergraduates is the only international mathematical modeling contest. A total of 20,758 teams from China, the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada and other countries participated in the contest, including students from Tsinghua University, Peking University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Harvard University, Oxford University, Princeton University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology and other internationally renowned colleges and universities.

The school attached great importance to the Mathematical Modeling Contest and regarded it as an important element in cultivating students’ innovative ability and comprehensive quality. It is the first time that our school sent students to participate in this contest. The students completed model building, solving, validation and paper writing on the specified problems within 100 hours.
